CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif Pays Tribute to Women Diplomats on International Day of Women in Diplomacy


 

LAHORE – June 24, 2025: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif paid glowing tribute to women diplomats on the occasion of the International Day of Women in Diplomacy, recognizing their pivotal contributions to global peace and Pakistan’s growing diplomatic influence.

In her message, the Chief Minister described women diplomats as a valuable national asset, praising their courage, leadership, and historic roles in shaping international relations.

“When women lead in diplomacy, it becomes a blend of peace and humanity,” she said.

Maryam Nawaz made special mention of a visually impaired Pakistani woman diplomat who has earned acclaim at the United Nations for her exceptional insight and performance. She hailed this as a proud moment for the nation and a powerful example of determination and excellence.


Women Leading in Global Diplomacy

Highlighting Pakistan’s evolving role on the international diplomatic stage, CM Maryam Nawaz emphasized the rising influence of Pakistani women in policy-making roles. She cited the Anatolia Diplomacy Forum, where it was evident that Pakistani women are not just representatives — they are shaping policy and contributing as influential voices in international affairs.


Diplomatic Milestone: Visit to China

Reflecting on her own recent experience, the Chief Minister termed her official visit to China a historic milestone in Pakistan’s diplomatic and economic engagement.

“The visit opened new avenues for cooperation in key sectors including agriculture, industry, infrastructure, technology, and employment generation,” she noted.

Maryam Nawaz reaffirmed her commitment to empowering women across all fields — particularly diplomacy — and highlighted the importance of inclusive leadership for a peaceful, prosperous, and progressive future.
